Knights of Peter Claver Ladies Auxiliary
The Knights of Peter Claver and Ladies Auxiliary is the County’s largest and oldest historically Black
Catholic Lay organization composed of many members in our church. The Knights of Peter Claver Ladies
Auxiliary was authorized August 1922 and recognized as a Division of the Knights of Peter Claver
National Council in Galveston, Texas, August 1926. St.Mary’s Court # 159 was established May 7, 1970.
The Court has had a National Officer, Supreme Lady Consuella Broussard, and many State Officers.
Currently we have a Texas State Deputy, Rose Ellis, and Texas State Conference Financial Secretary
Lindsey Dickens.
We continue the work of our Patron Saint, Father Peter Claver, by engaging in church and community
service projects, supporting local, regional and national charitable appeals and caring for our seniors,
youth and all others in need.
We would like to have you join our Claver Family so we can continue making history in our church and
the rest of the United States. There are many opportunities for members to assist in service to our
church, Seniors and youth in our Parish , our city and the State of Texas. We attend Mass together once
on the first Sunday of each month and meet immediately afterwards to work on our service projects.
Your time and talents will be greatly appreciated as members of our organization.
